WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY? (IF YOU INTERNED ABROAD YOU CAN USE THIS SPACE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE IF YOU PREFER)
I took a marine biology class while abroad. We learned about the different ecosystems and organisms in Costa Rica and how they interact with each other. My favorite part of the class was our 3-day field trip at the end of my program. We went to the northern part of Costa Rica and collected samples, snorkled, toured the mangrove swamps, and really got to interact with different species.
HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I really enjoyed interacting with the local community. The main way that I did this was by going to local buisnesses. I don't speak spanish, so getting the opportunity to learn and practice spanish by interacting with native speakers was a really cool experience
